Editor’s note: Back in May 2012, The Avengers actually kicked off this website. For this special Marvel Week occasion, we’ve decided to update the review a bit. But don’t worry, the message is the same: The Avengers is fantastic, and everyone should see it.

It’s four in the morning, and never before have I been this damn giddy in my life. Every worry has been lifted off my shoulders and the last four years of waiting have not been wasted. Marvel’s The Avengers is an absolutely brilliant and entertaining movie.

Captain America: The First Avenger had the heavy responsibility of setting up the building blocks for Marvel’s most anticipated film, The Avengers.  The film could have been a serious mess of story lines and a cheesy origin story.  Luckily, the film never strays into the realm of completely unbelievable or messy. It does justice to the tale of Captain America, American hero and builds a solid foundation for The Avengers.

As the second movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, The Incredible Hulk had its work cut out for it. Not only did it have to try to get out of the shadow of its predecessor, Iron Man, but it also had to deal with Ang Lee’s 2003 Hulk, to which it supposedly has zero connection. Edward Norton stars as Bruce Banner, a man on the run from the United States military after an accident during a lab experiment turns him into… THE INCREDIBLE HULK!

What most people (myself included) could not have predicted when Marvel Studio’s hit Iron Man released in 2008 was that A. Robert Downey Jr.’s career had been revitalized and that he would go on to be one of the biggest stars in the industry, and that B. Iron Man was actually the first in what would become a multi-billion dollar franchise. Leading man Robert Downey Jr. stars as everyone’s favorite genius billionaire playboy philanthropist and weapons inventor/dealer Tony Stark.

Hello and welcome to Marvel Week!  With the release of Thor: The Dark World a week away, we here at Those Review Guys are a little more than a little excited for the newest Marvel Studio’s adventure into the realm of superheroes.  In order to hold us over until the release of Thor, we have decided to have a Marvel movie marathon.  And, of course, a movie marathon turned into a week long review extravaganza! A Scanner Darkly Review

A Scanner Darkly, based on the book by Phillip K. Dick, follows the story of Bob Arctor (Keanu Reeves) in one of the hardest situations through his life. The setting is a futuristic, yet not too futuristic, Earth. The world is plagued with a new drug on the street: Substance D. More addictive than any drug on the market and quite more dangerous, A Scanner Darkly follows the downfall of Arctor as he slips deeper and deeper into addiction.

Robert Downey Jr. Celebration!: Because let’s face it, that guy’s awesome.

This handsome, beautiful man has brought us insanity in the form of Tony Stark, Sherlock Holmes, Sergeant Lincoln Osirus, and many more.

Iron Man 3 releases in the United States in just a few days, so we here at ThoseReviewGuys decided to get together and host another week (we’ll try at least) long celebration of the man behind the Iron mask, Robert Downey Jr. We love this man dearly, and we hope you do too. So what I’m saying, if I’m saying anything at all, is welcome back to the Stark Expo!

By grinding for exp by building 34 suits of Armor between The Avengers and Iron Man 3, Tony Stark managed to maximize his beard’s level of awesome.

PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale Review: YOU GOTTA BELIEVE!

Although Playstation All-Stars: Battle Royale is said to be inspired by, and more commonly compared to, Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. series, the two games are very different. These are two clearly different, but equally respectable fighting games. The comparisons end with the notion that both bring together their respective first and third party franchises. Super Smash Bros. is one of the ultimate fighting games in video game history. Almost everyone knows Nintendo and its characters, so throwing them all together in a button mashing insanity feud makes perfect sense. It’s fun for anyone of any age and is extremely competitive, although Mario Kart 64 may be more competitive among college students. PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale (All-Stars), developed by SuperBot Entertainment, is a competitive game, a legitimate and deep fighter, and one of the most entertaining things I’ve ever experienced. All-Stars is better than Super Smash Bros.

No Love For Final Fantasy In PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale (I Am So Sad)

2012’s Playstation hit PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale (All-Stars henceforth) is an awesome fighter game, similar to Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. series. The game features a roster of twenty mostly unique characters from both first and third party Sony games. As the roster was being released over the course of 2012, I was sure there would be a Final Fantasy character announced, and was crushed when there wasn’t. Don’t get me wrong, All Stars is a great game with a fantastic roster, but it’s still disappointing that it hasn’t shown any Final Fantasy love, especially since the Final Fantasy brand helped make the PlayStation name as big as it is today. In order to share my desire to see SuperBot show some Final Fantasy love, I have put a list together of characters which I think would work great in All Stars from the Final Fantasy series. SuperBot Entertainment has already released one round of DLC, and announced the characters of the second round recently. Will further DLC include Final Fantasy characters? Hopefully, and maybe it’ll be one of these:

An (Insane) Editor’s Thanks

Final Fantasy Week (which due to unforeseen circumstances and sheer laziness on my part turned into Final Fantasy Two-And-A-Half-Months) was a random impulse that I had at work one day. With a little over a month to prepare for it, it took a week just to assemble the crew and get everything as organized as it could be. Between the ten contributing writers and editors, we scrapped together some 35+ articles, including numerous reviews, tons of sarcasm (props to Jeremy and his Final Fantasy I review), a few Favorites pieces, and an awesome Blitzball commentary from John, and it still amazes me how much we managed to go from complete organizational chaos to something impressive.
